Bradford Institute of Advanced Education offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), multi-modal training and face-to-face workshops in workplaces, as well as self-directed gap training. For experienced workers and volunteers, Recognition of Prior Learning may contribute to a large component of your qualification. Evidence of your skills and knowledge will be assessed by a qualified assessor.
Detailed training and assessment information will be provided to you by during enrollment which includes a Learner handbook that is also available on the website under the support tab. Go to BIAE.com.au. Any delivery, assessment or program enquiries should be directed to your trainer.
How Does it Work?
You will be asked to complete 15 subjects via workbook or online learning. You choose the method that suits you. You may also apply for Recognition of Prior Learning if you believe you already have the knowledge and skills relevant to a particular unit or units. An RPL application must be submitted at the time of enrolment and the onus is on the student to provide sufficient, current, valid and authentic evidence against each of the units. Where there are gaps in your evidence, a professional conversation with your assessor may provide additional evidence. Your assessor may also ask you to provide further evidence to substantiate your claim of competency in a particular unit/s.
Where gaps in evidence remain – that is that you cannot be considered competent on the evidence provided, gap training will be made available to you. For gap training, you will be provided with workbooks and given assessments to complete. It is possible that gap training might include practical assessments.
